Over the last year or so we have rolled out Google Apps in our organization. We now have over 1600 staff members -and increasing- using it everyday from over 30 countries.
Although we rolled it out primarily for e-mail, chat and calendar, the Google Docs part of it is very popular. It allows our staff to collaborate on documents – with internal and external partners – in an unprecedented way.
However its was geared towards consumer use, hence missing some features needed for larger environment like ours. The most notable omissions are sharing folders and sharing groups. The folder sharing has now been solved. This is a very big deal because it enables a group of people to not only share a single document as you could before, but to have a folder with multiple document types such as word processing, spreadsheets and so forth.

I sure hope next one on the list is sharing groups: so that you can share a folder or document with a group instead of individuals, and everyone how is added or removed from this group gains or loses access.
Well done Google. Keep it up.
